ScoliBrace: The Fitting Process
I’m excited to share what you can expect when you visit Simply Move Chiropractic in Charlotte for scoliosis bracing with the ScoliBrace system. My approach is designed to provide personalized and effective care tailored specifically to your needs.
Making the Decision
Deciding to get a ScoliBrace is not a simple decision. My scoliosis patients undergo a thorough assessment, including X-rays, posture photos, and a detailed medical history, to determine if a brace is necessary. Whenever possible, I prefer to start patients on a ScoliBalance rehabilitation program with custom corrective exercises. However, if the curve continues to progress or is deemed severe enough during the initial consultation, a brace may be recommended. This decision can be challenging both financially and emotionally, and I strive to support my patients through the process as best as I can.
True 3D Assessment
Your journey starts with a thorough 3D assessment using state-of-the-art scanning technology. At my clinic, I employ a portable, highly accurate 3D scanner linked with an iPad and the BraceScan app. This setup allows me to capture a detailed three-dimensional scan of your posture from all angles, ensuring that the brace design is perfectly suited to your body.
Customized Design & Creation
After completing your scan, I integrate the 3D images with digital x-rays, posture photos, and your clinical history. This wealth of information is crucial as it helps me, in collaboration with expert CAD designers, to develop a ScoliBrace customized specifically for you. This process guarantees that the brace is not only effective in managing your scoliosis but also comfortable to wear.
Brace Fitting
Once your custom ScoliBrace is prepared, you’ll come back to my clinic for a professional fitting. This session is essential to ensure both your comfort and the effectiveness of the brace. During this visit, I’ll go over your treatment management plan in detail and make any necessary adjustments to the brace. Ensuring a good fit is vital as it plays a significant role in the correction process.
Progress Reviews & Follow-ups
Managing scoliosis is a continuous process that requires regular monitoring and adjustments. You will have scheduled visits at my clinic in Charlotte where I’ll assess your progress and make any necessary changes to the brace and treatment plan. These regular check-ins are crucial to make sure that we are on the best path to achieving the most favorable outcomes.
